when you arrive in this type of city the first thing you want to do is to be able to get some perspective. Hong Kong is a vertical city when every building is at least 45 floors high. difficult in this case to get your bearings. Well the peak offers you just that. A few minutes from the city center, you access it through a very steep hill tramway built in 1888. Of course as you can expect there is a huge shopping mall on top, wih dozen of restaurants.

Your journey could stop there. but if you have a couple of hours, take one of the nature walks that will take you either on top of the hill or around it. this is one of the favorite week end escape. on a clear day the view is incredible on every sides.

moreover if you can stay until sunset, you will appreciate the the lightning of the neon city where all buildings will compete into an orignal display of light effect. the peak is a great introduction to Hong Kong
